Mood Concept

Here's an early scenario/mood concept. The goal is to try to find a nice atmosphere with the light, shading, tones and a little dust. This one is a bit far from being ideal, but it's a good start I think.

First Day (about us)

Detail Library is the first open movie project of a small group of artists, teachers and students (the members of this blog), reunited just for the production of it. The purpose of the project (besides creating a short film) is uses it as laboratory of studies for the pupils of the school of arts "Casa dos Quadrinhos" (located in Brazil) using only open source (and freeware when needed) tools like Blender and GIMP.

We call this project of: "Paper Orange Project". The "orange" name comes from the first open movie project, produced by The Blender Foundation: Orange. But the "Paper"... well, in the certain time we will show to you the reason of the "Paper".

We call it "Open Movie" not only because we are using Open Source tools but also because we will release the production files (3d files, textures...) and the movie in a Creative Commons license. Not like Orange and Peach projects that create a "pre-order DVD" fund raise for the start of production we plan to create a fund raise at the end of the production, when the short is ready and published on the internet. The money from the sell of this special DVD (and maybe a Book) will be used for the production of a second Short Movie.

Main goals of the Paper Orange Project:

1-Create a short animated film and learn/teach from it.
2-Make all work using open source (mainly) and freeware softwares.
3-Release the Production Files in a Creative Commons license.
4-Create it in a Open way, showing the steps of the production in this Blog.
5-Drink lots of coffee.
